Scoliosis Treatment in Turkey

Scoliosis is a three-dimensional deformity of the spine — a lateral curvature combined with vertebral rotation. Treatment depends on age, curve magnitude and progression rate. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Aydın manages scoliosis with Schroth-based physiotherapy, Boston-type rigid bracing and, when indicated, posterior instrumented spinal fusion using Medtronic or Stryker pedicle screw systems.

The Procedure

Posterior spinal instrumentation and fusion: pedicle screws inserted at multiple levels, connected by titanium rods to correct and hold the curve. Neurophysiological monitoring (MEPs and SSEPs) throughout. Bone graft promotes solid fusion.

Recovery & Return Home

Walking with support by day 2–3. Discharge at 4–7 days. Flying home at day 7–10. Light activities at 6 weeks. Full recovery at 3–6 months.

You will receive a comprehensive discharge pack: surgical report, implant documentation (if applicable), physiotherapy programme, medication prescription and a UK GP liaison letter.
